the story behind „in love.“

40 × 40 cm
Abstract painting, oil and acrylic on canvas

in love. captures the fragile intensity of beginning—of emotions that arrive suddenly and fill every space. The painting is composed of flowers and layered shades of pink, ranging from soft blush tones to deeper, more vibrant hues. Together, they create a sense of movement, lightness, and emotional overflow.

I created this work at the very beginning of my first relationship, during the phase of discovery—when two people are still learning each other, when everything feels new, uncertain, and full of possibility. At that time, emotions felt unfiltered and pure. I carried butterflies in my stomach, excitement in my chest, and a joy that felt almost childlike.

This painting became a way to translate those feelings onto the canvas. The flowers symbolize blooming emotions, while the many shades of pink reflect tenderness, affection, vulnerability, and warmth. There is no single focal point—just as love in its early stage has no clear direction, only intensity and presence.

in love. is a visual memory of falling in love for the first time: honest, overwhelming, and beautifully naive. It holds the innocence of emotion before fear, before loss, before restraint—when love exists simply as joy.
