the story behind „loved.“

title: loved.

30 cm x 40 cm

Abstract painting, mixed media on canvas

loved. speaks of a love that has grown beyond infatuation. It reflects a stage where love is no longer defined by constant excitement or butterflies, but by choice, commitment, and presence. It is about actively choosing one another—again and again—even when the intensity of being “in love” has softened.

This work emerged from my long-term relationship with my partner. It carries the understanding that loving someone does not always feel light or effortless, yet it remains deeply meaningful. It is about staying, supporting one another, and holding space—especially during times when love becomes quieter and more complex.

The surface of the painting appears aged, textured, and almost crumbling, as if shaped by time itself. Layers seem worn, fragile, and imperfect. Yet within this weathered surface, silver and gold accents remain visible. These metallic elements symbolize shared history—the past moments, memories, and experiences that form the foundation of a relationship and of life itself.

loved. honors the beauty of endurance. It suggests that even when something shows signs of age or wear, it can still hold value, depth, and light. Old times do not disappear; they remain embedded, precious, and irreplaceable—continuing to shape love in its most honest form.
